Elm Farm Ollie's Vision

The slam is a way for unknown storytellers to get
exposure, but more importantly it is a learning
experience for storytellers and audience alike--
many of which are newbies. This is the beauty of
the "Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free" Story Slam! We hope
all storytellers everywhere will come forward and
tell us their tale! We all learn from each other!
Of course, it takes an openess and a sense of
adventure for a seasoned teller to put themselves
out there with beginners--but everyone benefits--
even the pro! We want above all else for Elm Farm
Ollie to be free--free to be FUN! Elm Farm Ollie
is not an "American Idol"--she is a "folk
hero"! The competition aspect of the slam serves
only to push everyone to do their best. See you
at the slam--

Happy Valentines Day,

Elm Farm Ollie

2008 "Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free" Story Slam

Cheri Seeton and Sunny Hackman are thrilled to
announce that Ollie's back in town. Our 3rd
Annual "Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free" Story Slam will be
held the 29th of March. We are adding a Youth
Slam for tellers ages 12-18 at 1:30-3:30. Elsa
Wolff, our 3rd place winner from 2007 will be
heading up the Youth Slam. Hey, I think we need a
razzle-dazzle name for the Youth Slam--any ideas?
The adult slam will be held at 6 to 9 p.m. that
same day. We are exploring the possibility of
adding a microphone class taught by Susan Marie
Frontczak in the morning. Both slams will be
recorded and copies will be available for purchase.
